HELLO, I AM PETER MOSCHER
The beautiful wooden figures for constellation work are my creation. Individual craftsmanship with that special something has always been close to my heart.
I am a trained photographer, worked in industrial design for a long time and now run my manufactory in the Weserbergland. My products are all handmade and unique.
I was born in 1957 in Styria in Austria: there, where nature and culture combine...
PASSION FOR WOOD & CRAFTS
It all started with art. I studied photodesign/visual communication at the technical college in Bielefeld. Back then, still in analogue times, I came into contact with scenery construction: In the process, I discovered my passion for wood and wood craftsmanship. Be it the beautiful grain of the different woods, the pleasant feeling of touching them or the great variety of artful design with the natural material.
I followed my passion for wood, crafts and art. I continued my education autodidactically: I am still on the road as a freelance wood-art craftsman.
2015 - THE HOUR OF THE MOSCH LINE-UP FIGURES STRUCK
When my wife Nicoline von Jordans-Moscher said to me rather casually in 2015, "I can't find constellation figures I like for my work," the ball was set rolling.
My wife works as a coach and as a systemic family and organisational consultant (DGfS). Therefore she knew the market very well. (More about her at: www.nvj-coaching.de)
I did some research on the net. There I noticed that many constellation figures seem really impersonal and strange. I asked myself why they are not identifiable as male or female? Or, why there is no clear, strong symbolism, at the same time neutral and value-free, just as it is helpful with figures for constellation work?
The thoughts drifted around for a long time. The ideas matured in my head. I started with the first technical implementations. I developed, discarded figures that looked like little Minions and started again. I wanted my work to look valuable, lively and unique.
That was the start of the MOSCHER-SYSTEMBOX Das Original.
